![]() ![]() Unlike the familiar “Time-Value-Key” method of animation, wherein you manually set the key positions for an object in flight, when you use a motion path, the object will automatically traverse the path over a specified amount of time. Motion PathsĪ Motion Path is a NURBS curve that has been called into special duty: to supply an object with translation and rotation values over time. These types of animations are often accomplished with the aid of a Motion Path. For example, you may want to get a plane to fly a certain flight pattern (see Figure 5.13), a train to run along some tracks, or a grape to arc up in a loop and drop into your character’s waiting mouth. ![]() You may sometimes find that there is a very specific route you’d like an animated y object to take. ![]()
